Boudnath (बौद्धनाथ)

Boudhanath ist die größte buddhistische Stupa der Welt. Eine Stupa ist ein Grabmal mit Überresten verstorbener Personen, die eine große Ausstrahlung oder Bedeutung hatten. Seit Jahrhunderten ist sie eines der bedeutendsten Ziele buddhistischer Pilger. Erbaut wurde sie im 5. Jahrhundert n. Chr.
Sie ist von einer Fußgängerzone umgeben und der Platz hat mehrere Zugänge. Die Stupa selbst hat nur einen Eingang und ist 36 Meter hoch.
Innerhalb des Platzes, um die Stupa herum, befinden sich Häuser mit Geschäften.


Boudhanath is the largest Buddhist stupa in the world. A stupa is a grave meal with remnants of deceased persons who had a great charisma or meaning. For centuries it has been one of the most important destinations of Buddhist pilgrims. It was built in the 5th century AD.
It is surrounded by a pedestrian area and the square has several entrances. The stupa itself has only one entrance and is 36 meters high.
Within the square, around the stupa, are houses with shops.
